letter templates...
If you're feeling confident enough to deal with your creditors yourself,
here are some letter templates to assist you. You can select and
download the letters which best suit your situation.
Because Word documents don't 'travel' well (they
sometimes appear distorted, depending on local settings), we have
included the same templates as Adobe documents (which can be copied &
pasted into your word processor).
IMPORTANT
- Make sure that when
making an offer to pay a certain amount, you can afford to sustain the
payments.
If the lender agrees to reduced payments and you subsequently fail to
maintain them, it is unlikely that you will be given a second
opportunity. Where mortgage payments are concerned, we would
recommend that you speak to an experienced mortgage advisor to work
out your monthly affordability before committing yourself to a repayment
plan. It is important to remember the statement on every mortgage
document which reads "Your home is at risk if you do not keep up your
mortgage payments (or loans secured on it)". Your mortgage lender is a
priority creditor.
